LYF Retreat 2009 - Wall Fall Down

{Announcements for week ending Nov. 16th}

Past: God is self-sufficient, which means he has no needs. Bye-bye Ego, God doesn’t need me. But hello God, you are amazing for inviting us to join in the work you are doing in this world!

Present:

1.      Prayer - Prayer meeting (Wed. Nov. 11th, 2009) is at 7:45 pm.  Nathan’s Office. Come to pray with other LYFers. Welcoming all people who want to seek the face of Jesus Christ.

2.      Giving – Take advantage of continuing opportunities to donate 1) non-perishable foods to the Shelf of Hope or 2) help sponsor our two children through WorldVision.

a.      Thanks to those who did shoeboxes. There is still time (2 weeks left!) if you want to participate.

3.      Serving – We will continue to have opportunities to serve, like keeping the LYF room clean, service projects, etc…

4.      CommUnity – Pray for peace and unity in LYF.

a.      No more dividing walls of hostility. (Eph. 2:14-16)

b.      Pray for Small Groups, that God would work through our time spent together.

Friday (Nov. 13th) –

-          LYF – Identity #8

-          National Apologetics Conference Starts at 6 pm (Cost for attending Fri. Only = $5)

Saturday (Nov. 14^th) –

  - National Apologetics Conference continues and ends today (8 am to 8:30 pm), Lunch and Dinner on your own (Cost for Conference =$30 total, includes Fri. Night)

Sunday (Nov. 15^th)

  - 10 am Worship Service

  - 11:30 am Sunday School #5!

       2.   Next Weekend:

  Friday (Nov. 20th) –

-          LYF – Good things afoot.

Sunday (Nov. 22nd) –

  - 10 am – Worship Service

              - 11:30 am – Sunday School #6!

11/26 – Thanksgiving! Remember who we are thanking – Our God who Provides.

11/27 – No LYF, spend time with your family. They love you. And if you think they don’t love you, then ask God to give you the strength to love them.

Want to help out on a worship team? Have skills that you want to use for God’s glory through music?

Applications for worship team are due on Nov. 13^th as new worship teams will be set by Nov. 20^th. Thanks for your interest and willingness to serve in this way!

Other Activities Available to you as a LYFer:

Seniors: Sign up for Campus Crusade for Christ’s one day conference called “Transition Track”. A Conference on the transition into college and what you can do to grow in Christ at college.

It is located at the Boston Sheraton, and will be held on Jan. 2^nd.

Register online by Oct. 19^th (noon) for only $25. After that, registration costs $40.

All Students:

“Don’t Freak Out on Me!” – Illusionist Brock Gill is doing a show at Park Street Church exclusively for middle school and high school students on Oct. 24^th (Sat, door opens 6 pm, show from 7 to 9 pm). Great way to get the conversation started with friends who don’t know Christ!

            Cost: $5 in advance, $10 at the door.

CBCGL Fall Festival:

            Sign up with Steven Bowman to help out. Also, students who are interested can help out on Oct. 23^rd with putting together all the preparations for the Festival, which is on Oct. 31^st. The preparation party will be at 9:30 pm on Oct. 23^rd.
